We discuss how we both prepared differently, what courses we attended and the most effective way to revise for SJT. We finally end the journey of Medical school and talk about how amazing our graduation was.
3 Golden Pieces of Advice:
- Medical school is a protected environment which is very different to working as a Full-Time Doctor, try and start a project or start-up before graduating from medical school
- Be consistent during the final year with regards to exams, better to revise a small amount every day then to cram however most importantly identify how you revise the best
- SJT - Read GMC Good Medical Practice, practice official past papers online and try use limited sources to reduce conflicting answers

We explain how to get the most out of medical school through joining societies, setting up organisations, growing your network, freelance work for extra money and how you can leave medical school with more than just a degree well worth the £9,000/year you pay.

• Do not leave medical school with only an MBBS, prioritise your education but also ensure you take time to get involved in societies and have your own projects to develop as a leader and develop skills sets which is not taught in conventional medicine.
• If you are struggling financially and is someone who is very well organised you can do freelance work such as content creation, design, creating websites particularly during the holiday season. There are also multiple bursaries and grants you can apply for that will help reduce your financial strains.
• University is not just a place to get a degree it is also an amazing environment to develop and meet great people who will help your network grow and improve. So make the most of your time at university, after all you are paying £9,000/year.

We discuss tips and tricks on how to ensure you achieve your goals and how to utilise your time effectively. As per usual, we reminisce the crazy things we all got up to and how we were gyming with B Young pre-fame.
Our 3 golden pieces of advice from this weeks episode:
• Make the most of your clinical placements in a safe and supervised environment. Take time to learn how to take a good history, how to examine patients and practice identifying different signs and symptoms.
• Create your own timetable, set goals and be consistent. Try to do something at least everyday, be it histories, examinations, clinical skills or background reading.
• Most important of all, enjoy your clinical placements and have fun!

- Immerse yourself in university culture and engage with the student community at large
- Lectures are an excellent place to reinforce your learning and an opportunity to get a better understanding of complex topics. Spend time to identify the way you learn most effectively and utilise this approach for future exams and revision. You can always ask questions at the end, review the lecture online and even seek help from senior years
- Channel your energy and challenge your insecurities, don’t worry we all have them and you are not alone

- Every student is different and that is the beauty about going to university. So don't compromise your principles, beliefs and morals trying to fit in with everyone else. Be yourself and you will naturally find your place at university.
- Try to get involved in other aspects of university life particularly societies to gain other skills and experience which will help your career and life outside of medicine. It is also a great opportunity to do activities you may not have had access to prior to university.
- Get in touch with older students and find mentors to help you through medical school and tell you the best way to maximize your time at university!

- Prepare well and practice with friends and family in answering some common questions in a structured way but remember to not repeat word for word on the day. The importance of being natural and showing real passion is key.
- Be genuine, show honesty and convey you have the right skills and traits essential to becoming a great doctor. Make sure you relate it to your work experience and know your personal statement well.
- Dressing the part, communicating well and excellent manners always goes a long way!
